I was raised by a Single Black Woman of Power. She was my Grandmother. I grew up with a Traumatic Brain Injury which shaped my world in so many ways. I was 2 years old, and due to an accidental fall from the 3rd story window of the apartment building my mother was living in at the time; I was hospitalized for quite a long time. I had to learn how to walk, talk, eat, and everything else at 2 years old. The rest of my childhood was such a struggle. But I was always drawing and painting. I was always using my love for art as a therapy. And to this day I still do. My grandmother felt it was best to embrace my creative qualities and paid the thousands of dollars in tuition to send me to a Montessori Elementary school where the learning model was different from that of a traditional Public School.

The Montessori Method of Education, developed by Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood. Montessori’s method has been used for over 100 years in many parts of the world. The Montessori method views the child as one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It attempts to develop children physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively.

Montessori School made my creativity blossom. And as I grew older I would run away from it. But its such a huge part of who I am. Coveted Archives came to me after months of intense brainstorming; as a name in a thought I had about my life as a whole. There are so many things about me that other people hate or want (Coveted) and my past has/is/will shape everything that I am and will grow to be (Archives).

This is my world. This website was built by me, and it’s a world filled with everything that makes me who I am…. Welcome, welcome, welcome to my universe.
